Grove, East Bank Demerara

The Grove Post Office, located on the Golden Grove Plantation in the Demerara River East Bank Postal District, was officially opened on Januart 1, 1880. A gazette notice from September 1877 confirms its existence, although an 1879 P.O Handbook lists Agricola as the post office for Grove. The Grove Post Office was upgraded to a money order office on March 1, 1892.

The following are the Date Stamps used at Grove with EKD prior to 22 January 1901, the day marking the end of the reign of Queen Victoria. Proud, and the referenced pages from British Guiana Coded Postmarks – Study paper No 3 by Michael Rego, for code-marks.
