The Cabacaburi Circular Date Stamp (C.D.S) is a Panda Type E9 postmark. The Panda Type E9 is Double Ring (D.R.) D.R 22.4 / 14 with inverted office abbreviation above date. 2 L.D. with Y.A. or missing. Colony depicted as B. Guiana at foot with bars.
The Panda Type E9.1 is unlisted in The Postage Stamps and Postal History of British Guiana by Townsend & Howe. It is listed as Cabacaburi D1 (p. 154) in The Postal History of British Guiana by Edward B. Proud, however, his illustration is missing the bars.
Foot of date-stamp has bars and B. Guiana as in the Panda D-Series Type D4.2 (T&H Georgetown Figs. 16, 17 p. 340). Possible re-purposing of one of those Georgetown date-stamps with the Georgetown removed and the abbreviation of office added above date. Stamps with no year assumed to be 1883.
This postmark is rated (E)xclusive in the Panda British Guiana Postmark Catalog with a catalog value of £350 for a complete clear strike.
