
The Tuschen de Vrienden Post Office, located in the West Coast of the Demerara River Postal District, was opened on 1 December 1880 at the Telegraph Station. In 1892, D.R. Langford served as Postmaster. Tuschen de Vrienden was initially a plantation situated on the east bank of the Essequibo Estuary, approximately five miles below Parika.
