The Fellowship Post Office, located on the West Coast of Demerara, began as a Receiving House at Hague Plantation in 1850. It was transferred to Messrs J & C Harrison’s Store at Plantation Blankenburg on June 1, 1854, and upgraded to a District Post Office in 1860 while housed at the Police Station. On November 1, 1861, the office returned to Blankenburg Plantation.
On July 1, 1878, the post office was moved to a new telegraph station at Fellowship, where it became a money order office on February 1, 1888, and was expanded in the same year. The Fellowship Post Office remained an important part of the West Coast Demerara Postal District, with the coded postmark “W C” moving with the office during its transitions.
